Christmas Boxes 2016 Some of the school children have been busy filling old shoe boxes with presents in support of the Teams4u campaign to provide the poorest children in eastern Europe with donation boxes. Around 70 boxes were collected by the school. Click here to see more photos

04.10.16 Supporting Macmillan Charity On Friday 30th September a coffee morning in aid of Mcmillan was held at the school hall. Many came to support the event and cakes were also sold to the children, £ 560 was raised for the charity. Thank you! Click here for more photos

French Day On June the 10th the children celebrated Wales in the Euro 2016 with a French day. A special lunch was made and the children dressed in French costume. Click here for more photos

 

Ysgol Cymerau and Coleg Meirion Dwyfor are working together very closely at the moment to offer Year 6 pupils an Alternative Curriculum for May 2016.

In partnership with the Head of Widening Access Centre, Bangor University, our aim is to offer taster sessions such as:

• Marine Technology
  
• Construction
  
• Equine Studies
  
• Animal Care
  
• Agriculture
  
• Hairdressing and Beauty Therapy
  
• Police and Public Services
  
• Hospitality and Catering
  
• Motor Vehicle Engineering
  
• Computing and Information Technology.

As part of the school’s Alternative Curriculum activities, we have organized dates for Year 6 to visit the Dolgellau, Glynllifon and Pwllheli Meirion-Dwyfor Colleges.

The visits are intended to give the children a taste of the kinds of courses that are available to them and the importance of Literacy and Numeracy in their careers.

The children will have the opportunity to participate in a variety of different workshops such as Beauty and Hairdressing, Catering, Construction, Health and Social Care, Business, Marine Technology, Agriculture, Engineering and Animal Care. They will need a packed lunch, pencil case and Cymerau school uniform for the three days. Please see the timetable below for information regarding the visits:
